For
Conducting Assessment on the status of Biodiversity and Habitat Conservation and forest based livelihood opportunities in Northern Buffer Zone Areas of Banke and Bardia National Park "For Renewable Energy Access for Livelihoods in Fragile Buffer Zones (REALiZe) Project
LI-BIRD is implementing a project entitled “Renewable Energy Access for Livelihoods in Fragile Buffer Zones (REALiZe)”, funded by the Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA) and managed by the Renewable World targeting Bheriganga-1, 2, 4 and 5 of Surkhet district and Kalimati-7 of Salyan district of Karnali Province of Nepal. The project implements the field level activities by local partners; Sundar Nepal Sanstha (BNA) for Surkhet and Dalit Development Society (DDS) for Salyan district. The overall goal of the project is to uplift the livelihoods of underserved communities in the northern buffer zone of Banke and Bardia National Parks through the use of renewable energy and value chain activities. The project also aims to conserve biodiversity and enhance habitats for endangered flora and fauna of the area, which could create livelihood opportunities for targeted communities. Furthermore, the project also intends to support buffer zone community forest through specifying the local level biodiversity management plan at the community level and contributing to the Buffer Zone Management Council (BZMC) for improvement in the overall five-year strategic management plan of the National Park. The assessment is expected to collect primary information from project working areas as per the requirements of the project to identify the actual situation of biodiversity and habitat, current practice, and needed activities for improvement with active engagement of CFUGs and BZMCs. The results obtained from the assessment will be used to support BZMC and Buffer Zone Community Forest to improve their action plans/strategic plan for strengthening community based conservation and improving nature based livelihood opportunities.
LI-BIRD requests to submit a proposal from a qualified Firms or Expert for conducting the assessment in aforementioned municipalities. Please use the form/template provided in EoI document while preparing your proposal. Proposal must be written in English language. Proposal received after the deadline will not be considered for evaluation. Proposal that does not meet the requirements will be rejected. Proposal that meets the requirements and offer the best value for money will be selected.
LI-BIRD reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals, and to cancel the procurement process and reject all the proposals at any time prior to awarding the contract without obligation to inform the bidder(s).
