Background of the Organization
Association for IDEA (Integration, Dignity, Economic and Advancement) Nepal is a national-level not-for-profit making non-government organization run by the people affected by leprosy. The organization was established in 1998 A.D. with the major aim of safeguarding the dignity of the people affected by leprosy and people with leprosy-related disabilities.
Since the organization is founded by the people affected to the people affected, the organization is tirelessly working to reduce the discrimination and stigma related to leprosy. Advocacy for a dignified life, psychosocial care for good mental health support for the perfect well-being and sound livelihood for the people affected by leprosy are the major concerns undertaken by the organization. The organization is present across the country through the provincial committees for the extension of the service, upliftment of dignity and the reduction of discrimination.
